There’s nothing I love more than personalizing things! When I was pregnant with my first , Jax (Jaxson), anything personalized I could get I did! I got blankets, hats, wraps, necklaces (with both his full name and initials) 😛 So naturally when it came time to decorate his room it was no surprise that I wanted to personalize it. I went out and bought letters to hang up and spell out his name above his changing table. I love that it makes it HIS OWN. We had a Monsters Inc. themed room so the bluish greenish letters I found already made up did the trick! When we ended up moving two years later and new baby Aiden came along , the two boys were going to be sharing a room. I wanted to make one wall with Aiden’s name and one wall with Jaxson’s. I wanted it to feel like they each had their own space. With a toddler bed on one side and a crib on the other, both with their names right above their beds. I wanted a lumberjack/woodland themed room so I had to re due Jax’s blue letters that clashed! I ripped the letters off and hot glued the buffalo plaid fabric I had left over from the curtains on to the base. (I buy fabric on sale at Joann fabrics and always get extra for things like this) Since his letters were already brown with a woodsy feel I just glued them back on to the fabric. For Aiden’s letters I started from scratch. I bought the letters and backboard separately from hobby lobby. I decorated each letter how I wanted and then glued them to the board! (I’m sure it would be pretty easy to make the backboard too but I bought mine) I used paint, fabric, stickers, wood pieces to decorate them and I love how they turned out! Doing different textures is always the way to go. With letters the possibilities are endless! You could do two names on one board or just letters on the wall, big or small! You can do one big letter or initials. You can be as crazy overboard or as simple as you want! I like buying the letters plain and decorating them because then it matches perfectly to your themed room! Then you just add a few accent pieces to bring it all together! If I had a girl I would totally do something frilly and fun! Maybe someday?!?! 😉 Happy Crafting!
